ABOUT
Founder and host Dave Hatch launched Motorcycle Experience with a passion to bring the motorcycle community together. An avid rider and veteran road racer, Dave believed that the spirit of the open road is something truly special – a mix of freedom, adventure, and friendship that every rider understands. Each week, he set out to capture that spirit on camera, from the purr of a finely-tuned engine to the smiles at a roadside diner where riders gather. Over the years, Motorcycle Experience has remained true to its roots: approachable, down-to-earth, and proudly Canadian. We showcase the best of motorcycling culture without ego or gimmicks – just genuine rides, real stories, and useful knowledge to enrich your own riding experience. Today, our mission continues strong.
We aim to:
Inform and Empower Riders: We provide reliable reviews, how-tos, and safety tips so you can ride with knowledge and confidence.
Inspire Adventures: Through breathtaking travel segments and personal stories, we hope to spark ideas for your next ride – whether it’s a cross-country tour or a Sunday spin to a new cafe.
Build Community: We celebrate the camaraderie among riders. Our content brings together newcomers and lifelong riders alike, fostering respect, inclusivity, and a shared love for the open road.
The Team Behind The Show
At the heart of Motorcycle Experience is a team of passionate enthusiasts who live and breathe motorcycles. Dave Hatch, our host, is the friendly face guiding you through each episode – a rider with decades of experience and an infectious enthusiasm for all things on two wheels. Dave is often joined by co-hosts and guest experts who add their own flavor to the mix:
Emily Roberts, co-host and fellow rider, brings a fresh perspective and plenty of enthusiasm, engaging with guests and viewers alike.
Norm Wells of BMW Motorrad, Dave’s long-time riding partner, leads our Ultimate Ride adventures, sharing his touring expertise and camaraderie on those epic road trips.
Jenn Martin, professional riding instructor, heads up our safety and skills segments (like the ever-popular “Shifting Gears”), delivering tips with a friendly, encouraging style.
Guest Contributors: We frequently welcome seasoned riders – from former road racers and adventure riders to mechanics and gear specialists – who share their knowledge and personal stories. Contributors like Lawrence Hacking (off-road legend) or Colin Fraser (moto-journalist) enrich our episodes with diverse insights.
Behind the cameras, our production crew (WhistleStop Productions) works hard to capture the essence of each ride in stunning detail, so you feel like you’re right there with us leaning into every turn. We may have started small, but today Motorcycle Experience is a full-fledged celebration of motorcycling, made possible by a dedicated team and the support of industry partners and our loyal viewers.
Authentic, Approachable, Adventurous
What sets Motorcycle Experience apart is our authentic approach. We don’t just review a bike or talk about gear – we live the experience and share it honestly. Our tone is always friendly and inclusive: we know every rider started somewhere, and we’re here to encourage that next journey. When we hit the road for a tour segment, you’ll see the genuine awe in our faces at a mountain vista or the laughter over a roadside mishap – we show the real deal, not a scripted drama. This authenticity has kept viewers coming back year after year, and it’s the reason new riders feel at home with our show.
We’re also fanatical about adventure. From day one, we’ve pushed beyond the garage and into the world – test riding a prototype on a racetrack one episode, then sloshing through mud on an off-road trail the next. We embrace all facets of riding because we know motorcycling isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s the thrill of a sport bike’s acceleration, the zen of a long cruiser ride, the challenge of an off-road trek, and the simple joy of a weekend meetup with friends. Our content reflects that rich tapestry of experiences, always aiming to stoke your curiosity and feed your passion.
After 37 seasons, we’re proud of our legacy but even more excited about the road ahead. Motorcycle Experience remains committed to evolving with the times – covering new trends like electric motorcycles and advanced rider tech – while cherishing the timeless appeal of the open highway. If you love motorcycles or just love a good adventure story, you’re family to us. Thank you for riding along all these years, and if you’re new here, welcome to the journey!
Celebrating the Open Road
Since 1989
Motorcycle Experience is North America’s longest-running televised motorcycle series, and for good reason – it’s built by riders, for riders. Since 1989, we’ve been sharing the sheer joy of motorcycling with viewers across Canada and beyond. What started over three decades ago as a humble TV segment has grown into a beloved community and a 37-season (and counting!) adventure. Our mission has always been simple: celebrate the motorcycling lifestyle, educate riders of all levels, and inspire everyone to explore the world on two wheels.
