Hi everyone, as we get set to kick off a repeat of our entire 2016 broadcast season on TSN.. I want to remind you that we will be once again throwing a party for fans of our TV show at the end of September and you are all invited to ride out and join in the celebration! That’s right, our Prince Edward County based motorcycle television show will host the event Saturday, September 24 at the Hillier Creek Estate Winery just south of Trenton, Ontario. As you know, our long running TV show, which is shot primarily in Prince Edward County, has been on the air for over 27 years and as the shows presenter, I’m looking forward to playing host down in the County from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Once again the Honda Canada demo ride crew will be on hand providing motorcycle demo rides and party favors. Plus this year I’m happy to announce that we’ve partnered up with the local, Eastern Shield chapter of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group and they will be on hand with a large vintage motorcycle display.
For obvious reasons, the winery won’t be offering wine tastings during our celebration but there will still be plenty of activities going on at the award winning Hillier vineyard. The winery manager and his staff will be holding vineyard tours and serving up their famous wood fired pizzas. Meanwhile, Honda Canada will once again bring their full up demo ride program to the winery so fans of the company’s new 2016 motorcycle line up can sample the very latest products the big red wing has on offer. Motorcycle Experience “Shifting Gears” segment host Jenn Martin will also present rider safety and touring seminars throughout the day. Plus there will be hourly door prize giveaways, vintage motorcycle display and a noon hour parade run through Wellington hosted by yours truly. The 3rd annual event, Wings Over The County is a tip of the hat to the Honda Gold Wing and our neighbors over at the 8 Wing Air Base in Trenton and I’m really looking forward to see you there! I hope to can drop by and say hello.
Meanwhile Episode 1 is a jam packed edition of Motorcycle Experience, as we kick start another Ultimate Ride. Recently my riding buddy Norm Wells and I rented a couple of Bimmers in Las Vegas, Nevada and then double downed on some amazing scenery and roads. During this week’s Red Adventure” segment, editorial contributor Lawrence Hacking will examine the exploding sport of Adventure riding. Speaking of Shifting Gears, riding instructor Clinton Smout tackles sand and gravel this week, while senior editor, Colin Fraser stops by to discuss the art of shopping for a used set of wheels while looking back at a 2006 Suzuki Bandit.
Keep your right hand cranked,
David
