Well it’s been another crazy season of Motorcycle Experience. 4 months of shooting followed by 4 months of editing and last night I watched the last show of the season on TSN2. It’s been a real blast I can tell you that.
First off we built 2 amazing motorcycles for the 25th anniversary broadcast season. According to Yamaha Motor Canada, Rob Egan’sLightning Bolt blew everyone away. Last fall both Yamaha USA and Yamaha Canada commissioned projects like the Lightning Bolt and Rob’s café racer turned out to be one of the best in all of North America. It was a total privilege to be associated with the project.
Then there was our 25th Anniversary Honda Goldwing F6B. Artist David Arrigio did an absolutely amazing job with this cool project over the last 5 months! Honda Canada was thrilled when we unveiled the wing last week. We were blown away with the final result and David was extremely proud to execute the project on our behalf. Be sure to check out the photos on our website and Facebook page.
Meanwhile, this week we handed out our annual Bike of The Yearaward. Did you catch the last episode of the season to see the hardware being handed over to Yamaha Motor Canada? That’s right, the all-new Yamaha FZ9 beat out some serious competition this year. Not only did the naked 900cc triple deliver bags of fun every time I threw a leg over it, but it also comes with an amazing MSRP. The motorcycle was just too hard to ignore. Serious runner up accolades go to Honda’s brand new Valkyrie and BMW’s all new R1200GS. But for now, the FZ9 can enjoy basking in the glory of being our 2014 Bike of the Year.
Also, a couple of weeks ago we picked a winner in our Riders ClubOpen Season Contest and last week Lynda Burnett of Tyrone, Ontario received her BMW Motorrad Urban Jacket along with a limited edition Motorcycle Experience 25th Anniversary Hoodie and Joe Rocket Cap. Plus recently we held our 3rd annual Pride Ride/Horn Trip down in Prince Edward County. Despite a very cold and overcast day, a couple of dozen diehard Motorcycle Experience fans rode down to the County for a really nice day of riding and bench racing. Together along the way we raised $500 for Casey House in Toronto and that cheque has now been mailed off to the team in Toronto. All really great stuff!
Now here is the really really great news, TSN has agreed to repeat the entire 2014 season of Motorcycle Experience for the duration of the summer. Starting in a few weeks, get set to catch all the episodes you may have missed the first time around. We’ll send you a TSN broadcast schedule shortly. Ya hoo!
Keep your right hand cranked!
